gift of hearing
Cochlear Implants
A cochlear implant is the only solution to provide useful hearing when a deaf person obtains limited or no benefit from hearing aids.
This life-changing device provides severely deaf children the opportunity to attend a mainstream school and thereby giving them a chance to develop spoken language.
It also restores hearing for deaf adults, allowing them to be part of everyday life and social interactions again.
We would like to
invite you to partner
with us and change a
deaf child’s life by
giving them the gift of
hearing.
Educational Bursary
The Foundation’s bursary fund supports
deaf children from poor families, to receive
world-class mainstream education at the
Eduplex Schools in Pretoria.
School fees, 2 meals a day, school uniform, school outings and audiology management – including hearing aids and cochlear implants servicing and maintenance.
“One day our patients
will be able to tell their
own stories, and we will
no longer have to convince
naysayers that deaf children
can listen and speak.”
Testimonials
Where does one start to say thank you. It feels so insignificant compared to what you did for our son…not just for our entire family, but how the Gift of Hearing will positively impact the rest of his life.
F. Rheeders
A grateful dad
When our son started at Eduplex, he could not say a word. His speech improved tremendously with his cochlear implant & speech therapy.
We will forever be indebted to Eduplex.
Morakile Family
There are not enough words to express our gratitude for the gift that was handed to our entire family through my brothers hearing. May you continue the good work for the sake of many families like ours.
Ramolobe family
You will never know how much your work means– it inspires and uplifts us every time! We will always remember the people whose lives we are able to change with the gift of hearing!

The cochlear implant enabled us to effectively enhance her speech development quicker than anticipated. We can now have 100% conversation with her - like a child with normal hearing.
Walter Mabunda
Father of Rhandzu
Catering for both hearing and hearing-impaired children, an environment has been created where these children are accepted as “normal” and not seen as the exception or different by their peers which is key to their self-esteem

Thank you for helping
us change lives
with the
gift of hearing
We have a number of children and adults on a waiting list pending the required funding for a cochlear implant procedure, which costs an estimated R420 000.
(Most candidates have limited finances and no/restricted medical aid support).
Any donation, big or small makes a difference and is highly appreciated.
Together, we change lives.
